Math Test - Thursday

Our chapter 8 Math test will be on Thursday. In addition to the usual test, students will be expected to construct a congruent line and angle using their protractor and compass.
I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving with the long weekend! We are using our compasses and protractors a lot this week, so if your child does not have one yet, please send one with them.

Wrapping Paper

On Monday we will be wrapping boxes for the food drive that begins the week after Thanksgiving. If you could spare any left over wrapping paper for the boxes, we would greatly appreciate it. We do not need much, just enough to wrap one box for each elementary classroom. The sixth grade students will be collecting food from their Red Ribbon Week classroom each morning from November 29 - December 17. Just like in years past we will fill a sleigh with the food items brought by the students. There is a small prize for the class who brings the most items.

Book Drive

If you have any books that you will not be needing anymore, the freshmen class are collecting them for a book drive. Any books would be appreciated.

Compass and Protractor

Almost all of the students have these tools here, this is just a reminder for the students who still don't have them at school.

MSGBB

We leave at 2:45 for our game at JCN tomorrow.

Math Project

Next week I will be assigning a fun project in math. Students will be bringing out their creative side to draw a picture that needs to contain, points, lines, planes, line segments, rays, parallel lines, intersecting lines and different types of angles. They will have a full week to complete this project and they will have plenty of time in class to work on it, but students are not limited to working on it at school only. They may take it home if they wish. Later today I will be uploading the rubric for this project on my website.

Tools

Next week students will need compasses and protractors for math class. If your child does not have both of those tools with them at school, could you please send them with your child next week.

Math Test - Monday

We have our final test over fractions on Monday (11-15). This will include multiplying and dividing fractions along with cross canceling in a multiplication problem.
